Three-county RV chase leads to arrest

An El Dorado County man has been arrested after police say he led them on a high-speed chase through three counties in a stolen RV.

Police say 40-year-old Paul Nelson crashed through the fence of a dealership in Rancho Cordova yesterday in the RV, and then tried to escape on Highway 50. They say he drove through Sacramento, El Dorado, and Amador Counties at speeds of up to 90 miles per hour.

Nelson was arrested after police put out a spike strip that blew out the tires on the RV. Witness Ravinder Dosanjh says, "And then I saw a whole bunch of cops out there and they pulled the guns out, the excitement going on so I just locked the door and stayed inside."

Police say Nelson is facing charges that include vehicle theft, possession of stolen property, and parole violation.
