Travis Air Force base dad surprises family at Six Flags

VALLEJO, Calif. (Rob Malcom/KTVU) - A Travis Air Force Base sergeant, deployed in Kuwait for the last eight months, got to give his kids the surprise of a lifetime. The reunion took place at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom in Vallejo.

The staff at the park had to hide Technical Sgt. Jacob Thomas  for much of Sunday, but when he appeared, there was hardly a dry eye in the audience.

None of his family had any idea he’d be showing up near the sea lions.

“I was talking to my little sister, then my step-mom said, ‘Look, Look,’ recounted Jacbo Thomas, 15. “I just saw my dad. It was pretty crazy.”
