OAKLAND, Calif. (KTVU) - A tree caught on fire near a homeless encampment in Oakland early Wednesday morning, setting the encampment on fire.
The fire first was reported about 4:30 a.m. and was located near the Interstate Highway 880-980 interchange near Jackson Street. It appeared as though firefighters knocked it down before 5 a.m.
Details on injuries weren't immediately known.
