Two arrested after Berkeley hit-and-run crash

Police in Berkeley say a driver fleeing from officers struck an injured a cyclist Monday night.

Officers were called to a report of suspicious activity at Fairview and Adeline streets just after 8:30 p.m.

Police tried to pull over an Acura sedan, but they say it took off speeding. Officers say the cyclist was hit by the Acura at Prince and Martin Luther King Jr. Way.

They say the vehicle kept going before stopping a few blocks away. Two females inside the car were arrested.

The cyclist was taken to the hospital with leg and abdominal injuries.
