Two dead after car fire in San Jose

A fatal car accident caused a major roadway in San Jose to shutdown.

A solo car accident occurred early Sunday morning and traffic is restricted on Capitol Expressway as investigation continues.

The vehicle was traveling south on S. Capitol Avenue when it struck the center divide, then collided with the sound wall and became engulfed in flames. 

Two people were found dead in the vehicle. 

Reporter Christien Kafton says there is an "intense investigation" as officials are photographing the scene.

This is the city's 44th fatal collision of 2016.
