Two people killed in Oakland city park

OAKLAND, Calif. (KTVU) - Oakland Police are investigating a double homicide at Cesar Chavez Park in the Fruitvale neighborhood.

Officers are not saying much about what happened.

We understand that the two people were shot, and their bodies were found deep in the park.

Police received the call at about 11 p.m. Tuesday.

There are no arrests in this case yet.

This is Oakland's 46th and 47th homicides of the year.

There were 58 at this time in 2015, which is nearly a 20-percent difference.
