Two small quakes strike near Gilroy

An earthquake with a magnitude of 3.0 struck four miles from Gilroy just after 4 a.m. on Friday, according to the US Geological Survey.

That was preceded by a smaller quake, with a 2.5 magnitude, in about the same area about 14 minutes later.
