U.S. Coast Guard calls off search for missing kayaker
SAN FRANCISCO (KTVU) - A roughly four-hour search for a person who was thought to be in San Francisco Bay was called off this afternoon, U.S. Coast Guard officials said.
The search was called off at about 4 p.m. for a male victim in a red sweater thought to be in the water between the San Francisco Ferry Building and the west span of the Bay Bridge, Coast Guard Lt. j.g. Courtney Hansen said.
Coast Guard staff worked with rescuers from the San Francisco Fire Department in the search. No other details were available.
