Union City motorcycle officer suffers broken leg in alleged hit & run

HAYWARD, Calif. (KTVU) - Police in Hayward and Union City have been searching for a hit-and-run driver who reportedly hit a Union City officer on a motorcycle on Tuesday.

A source told KTVU the officer suffered a broken leg when the driver put the vehicle in reverse and slammed into the officer’s motorcycle.

Skyfox was overhead above Chelsea Way near Industrial Parkway at a mobile home park around 6 p.m.

More than half a dozen police cars were at the scene searching for the driver.

KTVU has put in calls to Union City Police and is waiting to hear back for official word.
