Vacaville brush fire contained to 5 acres

VACAVILLE, Calif. (KTVU) - Firefighters from Solano and Napa counties responded to a 5-acre vegetation fire near Fairfield Monday morning.

The fire near Gordon Valley and Clayton roads in unincorporated Solano County started in a creek bed. It was reported around 4 a.m. and was contained by 6 a.m., Suisun Fire Protection Division Chief Alfred Abruzzini said.

No structures burned and there were no injuries, Abruzzini said.

Thirty responders from Napa County, Cal Fire, the Cordelia Fire Protection District and the Fairfield Fire Department also responded to the fire.

Mop-up operations ended around 12:30 p.m., Abruzzini said. The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
