Vegetation fire challenge to battle because of heat near Livermore
A vegetation fire in a rugged part of unincorporated Alameda County has grown to nearly 50 acres and will be a challenge to battle because of the temperatures that will soar past 100 degrees on Monday.
The fire was reported Sunday evening off Mines Road, eight miles south of Livermore. As of Sunday evening, the fire was 44 percent contained.
The Alameda County Fire Department and CalFire are battling the fire.
