Vehicle seen leaving the scene of deadly San Jose shooting

SAN JOSE, Calif. (BCN and KTVU) - A vehicle was seen fleeing the scene after a man was shot dead Friday evening in San Jose, according to police.

The shooting was reported at 5:38 p.m. in the 3000 block of Oakbridge Drive in the Woodbridge mobile home park.

Several callers in the senior retirement community called police reporting a man found shot in the street.

Woodbridge resident Mike Alexander heard the shots which he initially thought were fireworks.

“I knew it was like five or six of ‘em...just pop, pop, pop, pop...very fast,” said Alexander.

Officers found the deceased victim lying in the street with at least one gunshot wound.

Witnesses saw a gray compact vehicle driving away from the scene with multiple occupants, but no suspects have been identified and the vehicle has not yet been located.

The identity of the victim is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

Police did describe the man as middle aged, leaving neighbors in the quiet, well-kept mobile home park to wonder if he was a resident.

“It was kind of scary thinking somebody would just come by and shoot somebody,” said Alexander.

Anyone with information on this shooing is asked to call Detective Sgt. Pat Guire or Detective Ken Tran at (408) 277-5283.
