Vehicle slams into Antioch power pole
Over 3,600 customers were without power in Antioch this morning, according to a Pacific Gas & Electric spokesman.
The outage began just before 2:30 a.m. after a vehicle crashed into a power pole bring down a power line on East 18th Street at Parsons Lane, according to PG&E spokesman J.D. Guidi.
Guidi said as of 4:10 a.m. power had been restored to all but 57 customers in the area.
Crews are on site working to quickly and safely repair the damage, in hopes of restoring power to the remaining customers by 10 a.m. if not sooner, according to Guidi.
The cause of the crash is under investigation by the police and there was no information on the status of the occupants of the vehicle.
