Woman accused of South Bay real estate scam targeting elderly clients

A woman is due in Santa Clara County Court Wednesday, on charges she conned elderly clients into fake real estate deals.

Geana Or, 46, faces felony grand theft and elderly abuse charges.

She was arrested last week near her home in Lathrop, in San Joaquin County.

She is currently out on bond.

Authorities said a 73-year-old Los Altos Hills man accused her of convincing him to buy two foreclosed homes, with the intent to flip them.

He wrote 10 cashier's checks in her name, worth $475,000.

Investigators say another alleged victim lost a similar amount.

They were told their real estate deals fell through, and their money was not returned.

Investigators say she advertised real estate deals throughout the Bay Area, so they think there could be clients, and possibly more victims outside of Santa Clara County.
