Woman found dead in Concord hotel ID'd

CONCORD, Calif. (KTVU) - A homicide investigation is under way in Concord, after a woman died at a hotel on Sunday night.
Police received a 911 call at 10:24 p.m. on Sunday from someone who reported a possible assault at the Best Western Heritage Inn at 4600 Clayton Road.
Officers quickly responded and found the victim inside a hotel room. She had been assaulted, according to Concord police Lt. Nick Gartner.
She has been identified as 24-year-old Fresno resident Guadalupe Riggi.
Police began performing life saving measures, but the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators later managed to locate the 911 caller and question him.
Police say he is considered a person of interest.
They say because of the nature of this incident investigators are currently treating the case as a homicide.
Police say they are waiting for the results of an autopsy, which will determine how they'll proceed with the case.
Investigators emphasized that there is no threat to the public.
No word yet on the identity of the victim.
