Woman killed in accident after fleeing police

SAN JOSE, Calif. (KTVU) - A woman was killed in San Jose after police say she fled officers in a stolen car and crashed into a light pole.

It happened after 8:30 Saturday night near Fruitdale Avenue and Sherman Oaks Drive.

Police say a patrol officer tried to stop the woman, but she took off.

Police say they did not chase her, but she did crash about one minute later.

Her name has not yet been released.
