Woman robbed of purse at Santana Row parking lot Wednesday night

SAN JOSE, Calif. (BCN) - A woman was robbed of a purse while in a parked car at Santana Row shopping center in San Jose on Wednesday night, police said.

The theft happened shortly after 9 p.m. at a mall parking lot near Stevens Creek and Winchester boulevards, where a white car pulled up next to two women in another car, police said.

A masked man came out of the vehicle with a handgun, approached one of the women and demanded her purse, according to police.

The woman was dragged as she held on to the purse, but the suspect was able to snatch it away and went back to the waiting vehicle, police said.

No suspects have been identified or arrested in connection with the robbery, according to police.
