Woman suffers life-threatening injuries after hit by VTA train in San Jose

SAN JOSE, Calif. (KTVU) - A young woman was struck Wednesday morning by a Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority light-rail train in San Jose.
Authorities say it happened around 10:52 .m. at Stokes Street and Southwest Expressway.
Officer say the victim was walking across the tracks when he was hit by a VTA train.
She was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. A witness at the scene said it appeared as though she were a teenager.
Officials had earlier identified the victim as a man.
