Woman wins $500K lottery, drives 20 hours to claim her prize

Camara Granados won a $500,000 lottery scratcher from a ticket bought in San Francisco.

An Oregon woman took a trip to the Bay Area and went home half a million dollars richer.

The thing is, Camara "Yeimy" Granados didn't realize she had won the lottery until she got home.

“My boyfriend bought the ticket while we were in the Bay Area. I ended up taking the ticket all the way home to Gresham, Oregon. I was in shock when I realized I had won $500,000. I still don’t know how to react,” Granados told the California Lottery.

Granados got in her car and made the 20 hour round trip drive to Sacramento to claim the $500,000 she won off the $5 scratcher.

Granados said she plans on using her winnings to fix up her house in Oregon.

Granados purchased her winning ticket at G & H Liquor, which is located at 201 Jones Street, in San Francisco.
