Worker rescued after fall at Telegraph Hill

San Francisco firefighters rescued a construction worker who fell 50 feet off a cliff in the city's Telegraph Hill neighborhood this morning, fire officials said.

Fire officials reported the incident at 8:15 a.m. at 140 Chestnut St., located just north of Coit Tower.

Fire officials said the worker remained conscious after the fall. The extent of his injuries is unclear. 

According to the San Francisco Fire Department, the workers were screening the hillside to ensure debris don't fall when the worker became detached from his safety equipment and fell.   

No other information about the worker's condition was immediately available.
