Yosemite fire timelapse

Yosemite Conservancy has released timelapse video of a controlled fire at Yosemite National Park.

The video shows the start and sped-up life of a prescribed fire at Ahwahnee Meadow.

The controlled burn purposely wiped out more than 60 acres.

Crews say the fire was about ecosystem restoration, balancing life, property and natural resources.

Occasionally burning certain areas also allows nutrients to be recycled into the ground, encouraging the re-growth of trees and plants.
