You can help name a rescued otter at the Marine Mammal Center in Marin County
OAKLAND, Calif. (BCN) - The public is invited to help select the name of a special southern sea otter pup undergoing rehabilitation at The Marine Mammal Center in Marin County.
The still-to-be-named female pup was originally rescued about four months ago by the Monterey Bay Aquarium and treated for exposure to domoic acid. She was recently transferred to The Marine Mammal Center to be a companion for another rescued female otter pup named Langly.
More than 800 suggestions for names for Langly's companion have been received at the center via social media, and staff members have culled the list down to six options: Abby, Harper, Harry Otter, Lola, Sprout and Zoe.
The deadline to cast a vote is 11:59 p.m. Wednesday July 25. Vote on the center's website at www.marinemammalcenter.org/vote or while visiting the center.
