Eight teams to play at SAP Center in San Jose for March Madness

Eight basketball teams will play at San Jose’s SAP Center this weekend,  after crews transformed the Shark Tank from a  hockey rink into to a basketball court.

The first game is Friday between UC Irvine and Kansas State on Friday at 11 a.m. And as of Friday morning, there were tickets still available for as little as $50 apiece.

The West Coast Conference is hosting the first and second rounds of the tournament.

Oregon takes on Wisconsin, later on Friday, St. Louis plays Virginia Tech and Liberty will play Mississippi State.

The teams brought their bands, mascots, cheerleaders, and loyal fans. Many are spending their non-basketball hours exploring what the South Bay has to offer.
