Richmond San Rafael Bridge Closure for man in mental health crisis causes massive traffic backup in Marin, SF and East Bay

CHP says officers responded to a call about a person in mental health crisis shortly before Noon Friday that led to the closure of the lower deck. As of late Friday night;, the situation still had not been resolved. CHP says the man is in a spot where officers can not get to him. Drivers say they were stuck in traffic for hours. It impacted people in Marin, San Francisco and the East Bay.

Toasty inland before cooldown kicks in tomorrow

Inland parts of the Bay Area will experience another hot day on Tuesday, before cooler temperatures arrive tomorrow and last through the rest of the week. The coast and areas near the bay will not see as big of a swing in the weather.

Goats on the loose in Pinole

A herd of goats roamed freely in Pinole on Monday after escaping their enclosure. The animals lazily ate from lawns and gardens on a residential block until a goat herder arrived to corral them, police said.

Sideshows break out in Oakland early Sunday morning

Oakland police said there was disruptive sideshow activity Sunday morning in two locations near the Oakland International Airport. There were 100 vehicles involved in the sideshow at 66th Avenue and Coliseum Way around 3:30 a.m., police said. Spectators threw fireworks at officers before the crowd was dispersed, the Oakland Police Department claimed. Just 30 minutes later, there was another sideshow with a smaller crowd and 50 vehicles nearby at Edes Avenue and Hegenberger Road. An AC Transit was unable to continue on its route due to the crowd, police said.
