Separated from his mother, Okuayinonu made it to the East Coast of the United States, where he began to carve out an entirely new and foreign life. Joe Fonzi has his life story and football story.

Robinson was cut by the Broncos, signed to the practice squad and then released. He’s been on and off the 49ers roster and practice squad since then. 49ers’ Tight End Jake Tonges has local roots. He was born in Cincinnati, but his family moved to Los Gatos, where he attended high school. Tonges was a two-sport athlete at Los Gatos, playing football and basketball. He had to battle both at Cal Berkeley, where he went to college, and in the NFL to get on the field. As you can imagine, after grabbing a game-winning touchdown catch versus Seattle in Week 1 of the season, he and his family members were suddenly very popular. Joe sits down 1-on-1 with Tonges.
