A large storm cell is hitting the North Coast and the Bay Area is feeling some of the effects. Bands of rain are expected throughout the day Sunday with parts of the North Bay forecast to receive up to a half-inch of rain. Expect highs in the low 70s for areas around the bay and further inland, and highs in the mid 60s on the coast.

The seasonal precipitation outlook is in and the Bay Area is once again expected to receive above average totals throughout the winter season. ?We are painted for a lot of rain,? KTVU?s meteorologist Steve Paulson said. Expect partly cloudy skies and temperatures on Friday to be in the mid 80s for inland areas, mid 70s around the bay and mid 60s for the coast.

The warm weather has brought a slight increase in fire danger across the more inland areas of the Bay Area. Coastal temperatures on Wednesday reached into the 80s and Santa Rosa hit 93. The surf is also expected to be high with waves hitting upwards of 15 feet.
