More Americans are tapping into their retirement accounts
More people nationwide are taking money from their retirement accounts before the age of 65. The Transamerica Center for Retirement surveyed more than 5,700 people. It found that 30% had taken a loan on their retirement funds, while 21% took an early or hardship withdrawal. We talked with finance expert Jason Matthews to talk about the risks of doing that, and the solutions available to those who might be thinking about tapping into their 401(k) accounts.
