A mother?s mission: Turning tragedy into fentanyl awareness

Kelly Perkins, a teacher with the Mount Diablo Unified School District, joined us on 'The Nine' to share the heartbreaking loss of her son, Carson, who died from a fentanyl overdose in 2022. Now, she?s turning her grief into action, fighting for awareness and prevention to save other families from the same tragedy. Perkins has a nonprofit called, Carson's Wings of Hope, which has education and financial resources for young adults going through trauma of substance abuse and mental health concerns.
