Beatlemania through Paul McCartney’s lens on display at de Young Museum
The "Paul McCartney Photographs 1963–64: Eyes of the Storm" exhibit at San Francisco's de Young Museum features more than 250 rare, personal photographs taken by McCartney himself. Capturing the band’s rise to superstardom between 1963 and 1964, the exhibit offers an intimate look at The Beatles’ journey, showcasing candid moments, behind-the-scenes glimpses, and the cultural impact of Beatlemania. Rediscovered in McCartney's personal archive in 2020, these images provide a fresh perspective on the iconic band. KTVU's Betty Yu spoke with FAMSF's assistant curator of photography Sally Martin Katz.
