San Francisco Police Chief Bill Scott announces departure, takes job in LA
After serving the San Francisco Police Department for 8 years, Police Chief Bill Scott announces that he's leaving and that he's taking a job as chief of LA Metro, a transit agency. Scott is credited with guiding the department through difficult times including the pandemic, the George Floyd protests, and implementing police reforms that led the force out of state oversight. Mayor's Chief of Public Safety Paul Yep will become interim chief when Chief Scott leaves on June 22nd.
