Barbara Lee received a standing ovation on Tuesday as she entered the Oakland City Hall to take the oath of office. A congresswoman for three decades, Lee becomes the first Black woman to serve as Oakland's Mayor, after winning a special election to serve the remainder of recalled Mayor Sheng Thao's term.
