Firefight continues in Sonoma County
While evacuation orders remain in place in certain parts of Sonoma, elsewhere people are beginning to return home. In the Larkfield community, north of Santa Rosa, evacuees were allowed back into the burn zone. Many came back to homes that were leveled by the fire -- including a Santa Rosa firefighter whose home burned while he was helping to evacuate neighbors. While some evacuation orders are lifted in places like Healdsburg and Calistoga -- other communities are still threatened including Kenwood along Highway 12 and Oakmont village -- a large retirement community.
