California's gas tax rises for the first time in 23 years

Part of a new law meant to raise money to fix roads statewide goes into effect on Wednesday and that means drivers in California will have to pay more per gallon for gas. This is part of a plan passed by the legislature and Governor Brown earlier this year with with the goal of raising about $50 billion over the next decade for things like road repairs.
