Abuse of 911: Alarming number of callers use emergency service as customer service line
Dispatchers note an alarming increase in the number of callers who use the 911 system as their own personal customer service line. In San Francisco and Alameda County, 40 percent of the calls that come in to the emergency hotline are quickly deemed non emergencies. Brooks Jarosz reports
