BART says system wide failure was computer network failure

BART said a computer network failure caused a temporary system wide shutdown of the transit agency on Saturday. The computer network failure occurred at 2:45 a.m., according to BART Spokeswoman Alicia Trost. She said as a result, they did not have a way to route or power trains so BART did not open for regular service as scheduled. Trains did not run between 6:00 am and 9:00 am Saturday.
