Oakland expands guaranteed income program, helps participants with basic needs

Oakland is expanding its pilot guaranteed income program. Low-income participants can spend the $500 a month on anything, no strings attached. We spoke to two participants who said it's mostly helping with rent and groceries. The deadline to apply for phase 2 is Wednesday.
