2-alarm fire guts Richmond business; firefighters call the blaze suspicious
RICHMOND, Calif. (KTVU) - A 2-alarm fire gutted a business in Richmond early Saturday morning. It broke out at Tulip Hardwood Floors on Cutting Boulevard and South Third Street.
Firefighters arrived shortly after 5 a.m. Flames had already spread throughout the two-story building. This is a flooring business, and firefighters say nearly everything inside burned.
There’s heavy fire damage in both the warehouse section and the office. Firefighters are calling the fire suspicious because there’s evidence someone may have broken into the building.
”When we got on scene there was one roll-up door on one side of the building that was already open, said Battalion Chief Aaron Osorio. “We had heavy fire coming from that room.”
An arson investigator was called to the scene to try to pinpoint the cause and the origin of the fire.
Nobody was hurt.
