Accident causes major backup on westbound Bay Bridge kicking off holiday weekend

SAN FRANCISCO (KTVU) - There are residual delays on the Bay Bridge Friday night after an accident on westbound I-80 temporarily blocked the tunnel, according to California Highway Patrol.
Three to four vehicles were involved in the accident causing a major backup as travelers headed into the Memorial Day Weekend.
California Highway Patrol said four lanes on the bridge were blocked because of the accident that happened around 9:40 p.m. in the tunnel.
There are no reports of major injuries at this time.
