Armed robber steals opioids from Walnut Creek Walgreens

An armed robber allegedly stole prescription drugs from a Walnut Creek pharmacy Monday night, a police spokesman said today.
The robbery occurred at 10:43 p.m. at the Walgreens at 2900 N. Main St., Sgt. David Rangel said.
A suspect allegedly jumped the pharmacy counter and threatened employees with a gun before taking the drugs. He then ran out of the store toward Treat Boulevard.
No one was injured, according to Rangel.
A K-9 unit from the Contra Costa County Sheriff's Office assisted police in a search for the suspect but did not find him.
He was described as a man in his 20s or 30s, 5 feet 10 inches tall, wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt and dark pants.
