Firefighters in Berkeley are looking for the cause of  a fire that damaged dozens of apartments, including a popular bookstore. A fire investigator is going to be going through the building later Friday morning to try and figure out how the fire started.

The damage is hard to see from the front of the building because the fire started in the back.

The building, called the Chandler Apartments, is on Telegraph and Dwight.

There are residential units on the top floors and several businesses on the ground floor. The fire here started around 5:30 p.m. Sunday.

Thirty people who live in the building were displaced.

Firefighters say most of the people inside had already evacuated the building when they arrived. No one was seriously hurt.

Some of the businesses on the ground floor include Bleecker Bistro, an art shop and the popular Moe's Book Store.
In a Tweet overnight Moe's told customers they had some minor smoke damage, but they do plan to open as scheduled later Monday.

The future is less clear for the residents of the apartment.

The Red Cross was at the scene helping 30 people who live there find a new place to stay.
