Alameda County sheriff’s deputies on Friday said they found the body of a 71-year-old Tracy fisherman believed to have fallen into the Delta Mendota Canal while fishing earlier this week.
In a tweet, the sheriff's department sent condolences to the man's family. They did not immediately identify him.
Earlier, Sgt. Ray Kelly said the man's family went to the canal on Grant Line and Mountain House Road early Tuesday and found his car in a parking lot but no sign of him. His tackle box was there, but no fishing pole.
Deputies believed he somehow fell into the canal.
