A Caltrain struck a person on the tracks in San Francisco this afternoon, according to the transit agency.

The person was trespassing on the tracks and was struck by southbound train No. 254 at about 2:50 p.m. between two tunnels south of the 22nd Street station, Caltrain spokesman Dan Lieberman said.

The person was taken to a hospital and an update on their condition was not immediately available, Lieberman said.

There were about 380 people aboard the train and no passengers were injured, he said.

Trains were briefly held in the area, but the tracks reopened and trains resumed service as of 3:30 p.m., according to Caltrain.
