Coyote spotted on airport runway

VAN NUYS, Calif. - A wiley coyote was spotted on the runway at Van Nuys airport in Southern California. 

No flights appeared to be affected as the coyote scurried along the runway Monday.

Police vehicles reportedly chased the animal towards the northern perimeter of the airport.

Van Nuys airport is a public airport in the San Fernando Valley.

Coyote sightings are said to be common in the area.
