SUMMIT COUNTY, Colo. - After spending 43 days alone in Summit County, Colorado, a dog named Rocky was finally rescued and returned to his owner.

Local media reports that volunteers with Summit Lost Pet Rescue, along with members of the community, searched for weeks before finally locating him. The breakthrough came after a homeowner spotted Rocky on her Ring camera. Rescuers then set a trap scented with his owner’s belongings to safely capture him.

According to the Summit Daily, Rocky’s weight dropped from 50 pounds to just 28 pounds while he was missing.
