Firefighters race to put out blaze at Victorian in Emeryville, 3 suffer minor injuries

Firefighters on Wednesday morning raced to put out a  second-alarm fire at a Victorian in Emeryville.

Oakland firefighters said a Victorian was on fire, which was reported at 8:46 a.m. in the 1000 block of 47th Street in Emeryville. Two adjacent structures were also affected.

Three people were taken to the hospital suffering from minor smoke inhalation issues, according to Oakland Deputy Fire Chief Nick Luby. Video showed at least one woman carrying a small child being wheeled out on a gurney. Six others were evaluated on scene.

Smoke billowed throughout the East Bay, and video at the scene showed firefighters on the roof of a Victorian home. Emeryville police blocked access to the street.
