New details are being revealed about a high school teacher in Fremont accused of having sex with one of her students.

Thirty-two-year-old Cory Audiat, who works as a PE teacher at the school, was arrested on Thanksgiving. Audiat was charged with having sex with an underage student. KTVU is told the student goes to school at Washington High School.

Police say Audiat began communicating with the boy early this year, and the conversations became more inappropriate until the relationship eventually turned sexual.

On Thursday the district told parents about the investigation.

The superintendent tells KTVU the teacher in question is on unpaid leave right now, but she will be let go.

The principal at Washington High emailed a letter to parents this morning.

Officials say Audiat has been with the district since 2008 and passed a thorough background check.

The superintendent says this is a difficult time for staff and students.

Before coming to work at Washington High School Audiat worked at American High School.

Along with being a PE teacher, she also worked as a swim coach at Mission San Jose High School in Fremont.

Outside of work she was also a professional body builder.

KTVU went to her house this morning looking to talk with her, but no one answered the door.

Detectives are continuing to investigate this case. There's no evidence of any other victims but police will follow up any leads they get.
