Ghost Shark seen on video for first time
MONTEREY, Calif. (KTVU) - A rare species known as a "ghost species" has been seen alive on video for the first time.
The video was taken in 2009, but it was just released by the Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute.
Researchers sent a remotely operated vehicle deep into the waters of central California and Hawaii to capture the video.
Before it was take, Ghost Sharks had only been seen in the Southern Hemisphere.
