Grass fire disrupts traffic on Kirker Pass Road in Concord

Grass fire shuts down portion of Kirker Pass Road

Kirker Pass Road closed near Concord Pavilion because of grass fire. 

CONCORD, Calif. - A grass fire shut down the southbound portion of Kirker Pass Road Monday morning near the Concord Pavilion for roughly an hour.

This is a major commute route for people trying to avoid Highway 4, which was backed up to Antioch for a while.

The fire was reported about 5:45 a.m. and the road reopened just before 7 a.m. 

CHPofficers were seen picking up traffic cones to allow traffic to flow through again.
