Heavy equipment stolen from Oakland hardware store

An investigation is underway into an early Saturday morning theft from a hardware store in Oakland where heavy equipment seems to have been stolen.

OAKLAND, Calif. - An investigation is underway into an early Saturday morning theft from a hardware store in Oakland where heavy equipment seems to have been used to break into the building. 

Thieves knocked down a fence at the Ace Hardware on 39th Street and Macarthur Blvd. around 1:30 a.m. Saturday and stole multiple items, Oakland police said in a press release. 

This is an ongoing investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact the OPD Burglary Unit at (510)238-3951.
