(KTVU) - Here's the Rap Sheet for Dec. 10, 2015:
SHOOTING CAPTURED ON VIDEO: El Cerrito police released chilling surveillance video today capturing an argument between two drivers that erupted into a shooting.
Fortunately, no one was hurt, but the video shows that it easily could have resulted in tragedy, as the incident took place in broad daylight, just before 4:15 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 5.
The video shows two drivers pulling to the curb on southbound San Pablo Avenue and getting into a shouting match. Both cars pull away, and less than a half-minute later, about a dozen shots can be heard.
Witnesses called police, and officers searched the area but couldn't find the vehicles that were involved. They did, however, find many bullet casings.
Officers confirmed that no one was hurt and no buildings or cars were struck by gunfire.
You can see surveillance footage of the shooting here. The argument can be heard around 1:47, and shots are fired at 2:11.
Anyone with information is asked to call El Cerrito police at (510) 215-4400.
DUI SUSPECT WITH THREE KIDS IN CAR NABBED: Petaluma police say they've arrested a man who was drunk while driving with his three daughters in the car.
About 9:20 p.m. Wednesday, Officer Brenden Sawyer was on patrol when he saw a silver 2001 Chrysler PT Cruiser turning onto East Washington Street from Petaluma Boulevard North but driving on the wrong side of the road.
The driver, later identified as Daniel Marquez, 36, of Sebastopol, later drove through an opening in a concrete barrier to get back on the right side of the road, police said.
Sawyer pulled Marquez over in the parking lot of a CVS store and noticed that his daughters, ages 9, 11, and 16, were with him in the car, police said.
"There were also numerous empty beer cans in the back passenger area of the vehicle," police said. "Marquez had signs of possibly being under the influence of alcohol and was examined for impairment."
Marquez didn't do well on field-sobriety tests and was arrested on suspicion of DUI and child endangerment. Officers also determined that he didn't have a driver's license. His blood-alcohol level was determined to be 0.20 percent, more than twice the legal limit of 0.08 percent.
Marquez is on probation for driving without a license and for being under the influence of a controlled substance.
His children were released to the custody of their mother.
ANOTHER DUI CASE: Speaking of DUI, Daly City police conducted a stakeout Wednesday morning at a home of a woman who had violated her probation for two previous DUI arrests and, as a result, had her driver's license revoked.
The woman, Rocio Medina, 28, drove away from her home during the surveillance operation, police say, and officers arrested her for allegedly driving on a revoked license.
Medina's name was on a so-called "hot list" of DUI offenders that's disseminated to Daly City police while they're out on patrol.
"Drivers with multiple convictions or with prior arrests with high blood-alcohol levels are then evaluated for potential risk to the motoring public," police said in a statement. "Those drivers determined to be the highest risk to public safety are then targeted for surveillance under the DMV “Hot List” program.
IT'S WHERE THE PETS GO: An observant employee of the Petco at Union Landing in Union City was at a nearby business on Dec. 1 and spotted a man with a chinchilla that had been stolen from the pet store a week earlier.
Officers arrived and confirmed that Jeffrey Soriano, 37, of Dublin was not only in possession of the rodent but also had a stolen bicycle with him, police said.
Alameda County prosecutors have charged Soriano with theft. He was being held at Santa Rita Jail in Dublin in lieu of $20,000 bail.
